Simiji in performance

Sierra Leone born Simiji Ali Marrah graduate of the Edna Manley School for the Visual and Performing Arts launched his first album Wounded Lion at his alma mater’s amphitheatre on December 28, 2016.img_20161228_194840

The launch was scheduled to start at 5.00 pm but got off to a late start because of technical difficulties. At 7.05, the launch got underway with the Wounded Lion Band playing some tunes.  The first guest artiste that came on was Galawass followed by Ketice and dub poet Oyendi Jawarra.

At a few minutes after 8, Simiji Ali Marrah came on stage.  He expressed gratitude to those who had helped him on his chosen career path.  He delighted his fans with aa number of songs from his album for about an hour.   CDs and T shirts were available for sale to Simiji’s fans.

The launch was emceed by Celia Williams and a good time was had by those in attendance.
